Standard installation

To start developing apps locally you need to install Python and VIKTOR on your own computer.

  1. Go to your Personal settings
  2. In the menu go to Local development
  3. Here you click on Install VIKTOR.
  4. The pop-up will guide you through the installation process.

After completing the installation we recommend continuing with the starter guide

FAQs

I get a warning that "viktor-cli-installer.msi isn't commonly downloaded". How do I proceed?

Click "Keep", "Show more" and "Keep anyway" to download the installer. For more information have a look at the gif below:

Windows defender does not allow me to install the VIKTOR CLI

Sometimes, Windows defender prevents the CLI installer from running. To solve this:

  1. Click “More info”.
  2. Click on “Run anyway”.

What if I'm not allowed to install VIKTOR on my computer at my company?

If your company has set restrictions on either your computer or the company's network that make it impossible to install locally, we recommend using the App Builder. If you ran into the limits of the App Builder and need advanced functionalities, you can Use GitHub Codespaces
